ACTIVITY AIDE

Chestnut Hill Lodge Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 181 bed skilled nursing facility located in Wyndmoor, PA. Our mission is to enhance the lives of our residents by providing excellent care and services with skill and compassion. As a member of our Recreational Activities team, you will play a vital role in providing engaging activities to promote the well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in planning recreational activities based on the needs and interests of the residents.
- Encourage social communication through group recreation.
- Visit non-ambulatory residents and nonparticipants to provide socialization and appropriate recreational services.
- Document resident attendance and participation level in PointClickCare; may assist with writing progress notes, if applicable.
- Maintain department supplies at appropriate inventory levels and in an organized manner.
- Transport residents to and from programs.
- Interact with residents, their families, and visitors to ensure the highest quality service through recreational activities; listen to and utilize their feedback to enhance programming.
- May be required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, as facility needs require.
- Due to COVID-19, activities are conducted individually and/or in socially distant settings. Some examples include: 1x1 resident activities, resident doorway activities, providing materials for self-directed activities. Use of PPE is required and provided.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Experience in leading group and individual activities within a long-term care facility, adult day program, or similar environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assignments on time.
- Proficiency using PointClickCare or other Healthcare Information system as well as Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Recreation Therapist Certification is a plus, as is experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
