Job Description
Chemung County Health Center - Nursing Facility is currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Sitter to join our team. As a Sitter, you will play a vital role in providing support and monitoring the well-being of patients in our skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Stay with patients and ensure their safety at all times
- Monitor and assess the patient's condition
- Assist with basic caregiving tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Report any changes in the patient's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
- Maintain a clean and organized patient environment
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Excellent observation and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to protocols
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Reliable and punctual
