Job Description

Come join us for an incredible opportunity to play a key role in helping Heavenly Father's children keep their sacred gospel covenants and build their faith in Jesus Christ. The work of Church content planners reaches millions of Church members through products such as ChurchofJesusChrist.org, inspirational videos, Church magazines, podcasts, smart devices, emails, and social media accounts. As part of the multifaceted Priesthood and Family Department, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that creates and publishes inspirational messages for members of the Church around the world.

Working closely with the Liahona, you will help lead the planning, creation, coordination, and publishing of engaging multimedia content in a variety of channels. You will play a vital role in building faith and pointing adults to Jesus Christ. We’re excited to welcome you into this warm, friendly, and professional work environment, where you can make a real difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities

  • Help create and publish inspirational messages for various platforms, including podcasts, audio recordings, smart devices, social media, the Liahona magazine, and more.
  • Develop and implement content strategies for both new and existing products under the division’s leadership guidance.
  • Determine appropriate content lifecycles where content is regularly refreshed and archived as needed.
  • Work with writers, editors, producers, and designers to create inspiring content.
  • Oversee and participate in multiple aspects of podcast production, including establishing series objectives and content plans, drafting scripts, interviewing, editing audio, and working with sound engineers.
  • Mentor less-experienced content planners.
  • Gather and analyze data to determine the most effective ways to reach audiences through storytelling, information sharing, and engaging content experiences.
  • Ensure that content meets the quality standards for the Liahona.
  • Collaborate with key partners to share content that reaches the objectives of multiple departments.
  • Work professionally with vendors, authors, and other talent in content production as needed.
  • Maintain a consistent and cohesive brand voice and feel across all platforms and channels.
  • Help oversee some messaging channels such as podcasts and audio experiences.
  • Balance multiple deadlines to complete content on time and within budget.

You will work closely with critical partners, including division and department leaders, support staff, General Officers, product managers, subject-matter experts, and representatives from Church departments. Your guidance and support will assist them in aligning their content with the overarching content strategy of the Church. In some instances, you may even have the chance to manage specific channels yourself, providing you with a well-rounded and fulfilling experience.

Benefits

Church employment offers an industry-leading benefits package that includes DMBA health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, 12 paid days off for holidays each year, leadership development, and an employee assistance program. By joining our team, you will make a meaningful impact on the creation and distribution of multimedia content that resonates with individuals worldwide. Together, we will inspire and uplift our audience while upholding the values and mission of the Church.
