Laundry Aide HCC

PruittHealth is seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking individual to join our team as a Laundry Aide HCC. In this role, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our laundry area and ensuring that the laundry needs of our patients are met.
Job Responsibilities:
- Folds and sorts laundry (blankets, sheets, towels, etc.) and personal clothing items
- Hangs clothes on racks according to name and numbers
- Delivers patient/resident's laundry to designated areas
- Ensures that patients/residents' clothes are ready to wear, not in disrepair and put in the proper place
- Understands functions of various soaps and bleaches
- Follows precautions as stated on MSDS for all chemicals used
- Washes and dries clothes and linens
- Keeps equipment clean and follows cleaning schedules
- Maintains a clean and organized area; sweeps and mops laundry area
- Reports any needed repairs to the maintenance department
- Operates large filters according to established schedules
- Ensures proper handling of soiled laundry items
- Cleans and disinfects linen carts as required per policy and procedure
- Empties washers and dryers as requested/necessary
- Operates water, gas, and electric cutoff switches and valves
- Understands the proper process for stain removal
Minimum Education Required:
High School Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience Required:
On-the-job training provided.
Additional Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare laundering processes (preferred)
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required by date of hire
