Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA is seeking to hire an Animal Care Manager for the East Team. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of animal care and welfare according to established zoo policies and procedures, while representing the veterinary needs and interests of the animals to the Animal Health Department.

Responsibilities:
An Animal Care Manager at Woodland Park Zoo will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and improving upon the highest animal care and welfare standards
- Representing the veterinary needs and interests of the animals to the Animal Health Department
- Oversight, performance appraisals, and resolving personnel issues for direct reports
- Allocating Animal Keeper staff for optimal animal care and maintaining a detailed scheduling database
- Assisting Animal Curators with animal collection planning, acquisition, and transfer
- Tracking pending maintenance and improvement work requests for animal exhibits and holding areas
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a life sciences field from an accredited four-year college or university
- Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Initial and annual TB test thereafter
- Professional membership of AZA by hire date and residing and working in Washington State
- At least 18 years old with a valid WA driver's license and safe driving history
