Full job description
Under the limited supervision of the Engineer-In-Charge of Maintenance or other supervisory officer in a state agency or institution, operates and repairs stationary steam and hot water boilers and auxiliary boiler equipment in a low-pressure power or heating plant; performs basic work involved in varied types of building maintenance and repair tasks; does related work as required. (Permanency will be granted after the successful completion of the working test period.)
Starting Salary $46,901.23 per year
($46,901.23 – $57,951.61)
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of experience in general maintenance repair work and work involving the operation of stationary steam boilers and auxiliary equipment of a power plant or low-pressure heating plant.
LICENSE:
Appointee must possess an Operating Engineers license (Black Seal) of the appropriate level issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor.
SPECIAL NOTE: Executive Order #290 issued March 2, 2022, all employees that are eligible for a booster dose must receive their booster dose by April 11, 2022 or within three weeks of becoming eligible for a booster dose, whichever is later. Please do not submit your vaccination records at this time.
NJ State Law (N.J.S.A. 26:2h-18.79) requires all health care facility employees to have the influenza vaccination annually.
LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
RESIDENCY LAW: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the "New Jersey First Act," newly hired public employees are required to reside in the State of New Jersey, unless exempt under the law. If you are do not reside in New Jersey, you have one (1) year after you begin employment to relocate your residence to New Jersey.
