Therapeutic Recreation Assistant -Part-Time Weekends

Miami Jewish Health Systems is currently seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis, specifically on weekends. As a Therapeutic Recreation Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life of our residents through engaging and meaningful recreational activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and implementing therapeutic recreation programs and activities.
• Engage residents in various recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, music, games, and physical exercises.
• Support residents in participating and enjoying recreational activities tailored to their individual needs and interests.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all residents during recreation programs.
• Collaborate with the Therapeutic Recreation team to assess resident needs and develop personalized recreation plans.
• Assist in maintaining recreational equipment and supplies.
• Document and communicate residents' progress and responses to therapeutic recreation programs.
• Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in therapeutic recreation or a related field is preferred.
• Passion for working with older adults and individuals with special needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings.
