Medical Assistant – Strawberry Wilderness Clinic | Full-Time

Blue Mountain Hospital District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Strawberry Wilderness Clinic in John Day, OR. In this role, you will provide patient care in the office setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or physician. Your responsibilities will include meeting the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care, communicating with patients and their families, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and office policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in A.I.D.E.T. skills/Customer Service. This is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Medical Assistant at Strawberry Wilderness Clinic, your duties will include:

• Providing direct patient care under the supervision of an RN/LPN/LVN and/or physician
• Evaluating patient outcomes and consulting with other healthcare team members as required
• Assisting nursing and medical staff with routine examinations and patient treatments
• Ensuring patient safety and reducing the likelihood of medical errors
• Meeting documentation standards and policies
• Being flexible, organized, and able to function under stressful situations
• Completing annual education requirements
• Representing the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community
• Performing any additional duties assigned by the Clinic Director
• Effectively communicating in English, both verbally and in writing
• Establishing and maintaining solid working relationships with employees, staff, patients, and physicians

Requirements:

To qualify for the Medical Assistant position, you must have:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of Medical Assistant Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Health Association (AHA)
• Medical Terminology Courses or Venipuncture classes
• Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
