Job Description:
Chevron Renewable Energy Group is accepting online applications for the position of Biodiesel Operator I at our Hoquiam, Washington facility through January 17th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PST. The Biodiesel Operator I operates and monitors company plants and facilities, typically Upstream facilities after primary separation and processing (such as gas and co-gen plants) and Downstream and chemical refineries and plants. Monitors process variables, troubleshoots, and performs interventions to maintain operating performance. Performs routine assignments under general supervision, gaining knowledge of work procedures and practices. Ensures that quality product is shipped and received from the facility in the most efficient manner.
Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Ability to operate the biodiesel DCS system
- Assist with managing and overseeing the production in the biodiesel manufacturing facility
- Perform various quality control functions on oil, biodiesel, glycerin, fatty acid, and water
- Monitor and continually improve quality control in all aspects of biodiesel operation
- Maintain a BQ-9000-compliant production and shipping and receiving system complete with appropriate documentation and work instructions
- Inventory process supplies
- Inspect products for quality indicators during production
- Sample products as necessary for retention and quality purposes
- Perform general facility maintenance and housekeeping
- Generate daily system reports
- Follow all safety regulations for any work area
- Assist with manufacturing, packaging, and load-out of specialty oil products
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent
- 5 years experience in load-out operations
- Basic computer skills, accounting skills, good written and oral communication, and organizational skills
- Forklift Operator Certificate
- Ability to operate plant computer systems
- Working knowledge of soy oil and biodiesel processing as well as BQ-9000 requirements
- Knowledge of arithmetic and its application
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently, or as part of a team
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Be available for work and overtime as required

Exposures:
Exposures may include methanol, sodium methylate, canola oil, hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, methyl esters, fatty acid, glycerin, surfactants, dyes, scents, dust, water, dirt, weather, temperature extremes, and medium to high noise levels.
Working Conditions:
This position requires some flexibility in working hours to ensure effective product shipment. The employee will have the ability to move freely throughout the facilities to direct and conduct a variety of activities. The employee will be subject to continuous exposure to marked changes in temperature, humidity, oil, dust, and high noise levels. This position requires frequent exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials.

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $31.20. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
