Licensed Practical Nurse – Parkersburg Correctional Center

We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Parkersburg Correctional Center in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This position offers part-time hours, totaling 24 hours per week.
Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Under the clinical guidance of Registered Nurses, the LPN directs and guides patient teaching activities, utilizing their education and demonstrated competencies. The LPN also assists in the assessment of the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients in the health care unit and housing units. They collaborate in planning and implementing individual treatment programs, utilizing available resources and consulting with registered nurses, physicians, and correctional officers. The LPN is responsible for administering medications and interventions in accordance with provider instructions, documenting nursing encounters and patient response, and maintaining working and living areas in good order. They also serve as a member of a nursing care and treatment team and assist physicians as assigned.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- LICENSURE: Current, unrestricted STATE Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) License
- CERTIFICATION: Current CPR Certification
- EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience; correctional experience preferred
