Primary Purpose:
Investigates, evaluates and settles casualty matters brought against Norfolk Southern for incidents involvingproperty damage, personal injury, or death arising from company operations.
Principal Duties:
Investigates and preserves relevant facts concerning claims against or by Norfolk Southern for death orinjury to persons, or damage to property, arising out of company activities within assigned territory.
Evaluates, controls, and negotiates fair and reasonable settlements of claims and lawsuits as may beassigned to incumbent.
Assists trial counsel in defending the Company's interests in the event of litigation.
Outdoor/field work consisti ng of physical tasks including but not limited to mounti ng/dismounti ng equipmentand walking long distances on uneven surfaces.

Minimum Level:
Completion of training program, relevant fi eld operation experience, or prior claims experience
Education:
Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree
