Do you love plants and people? We are hiring a Florist & Retail Staff member at Bloomed Life to assist with our seasonal flower sales. Pay is $19/hour and the season runs from June to late September or mid-October (depending on the weather). We are looking to hire someone immediately. The required shifts are Tuesday - Saturday, from 9:00 AM - 3 PM. Some days, you may need to stay until 3:15 to finish closing. Saturdays are required and are often our busiest days, so please do not apply if you do not like working Saturdays. The location for Bloomed Life is 2150 S Main St. Ground level unit. There is secured underground parking and lots of natural light in the store.
Bloomed Life is a floral boutique and flower collective located in Salt Lake. Our mission is to provide high-quality, locally-grown flowers to florists and flower-loving customers. Bloomed Life is also the sister business to Utah Flower Farm, Utah's largest flower farm and the third-largest rose farm in the United States. Both businesses are female-owned and focused on sustainability. The farm is located in Holladay and grows over 12,000 garden roses, with over 100 different varieties. Our fragrant garden roses are sold along with a myriad of other flowers from our partner's farms at Bloomed Life. Our partner farms include Wasatch Blooms, Sego Lily Flower Farm, and Three Sprouts Flower Farm, though we are continually looking for reputable farms to connect with. Our partners offer everything from Peonies to Feverfew to Yarrow, and so on.
Our staff are the outward-facing primary contact for customers in person and by phone and are a crucial part of our client engagement and business development. Store duties include, but are not limited to:
- Helping customers understand the shopping process, value proposition, and floral care
- Updating inventory and pricing to our web-based platforms: Gather Flora and Shopify
- Fulfilling multi-farm orders and checkouts
- Handling incoming communications by phone, email, and in-person
- Quickly creating simple arrangements
- Caring for all floral products, which includes maintaining quality control, a thorough understanding of different flower needs and characteristics, and excellent organization of products so each farm receives the correct sales
- Maintaining floral displays inside the boutique
- Keeping the store pristine and organized
- Washing buckets, scrubbing toilets, taking out trash, and other less-glamorous tasks
- Producing high-quality photos and videos for social media (daily)
- Creating an exceptional experience for our guests, which requires integrity (being on time, keeping commitments), working hard, serving others, creating artistic displays with flowers, keeping organized, good time management, and accountability in taking full leadership of the store

Minimum Qualifications
- Six months of professional floristry experience
- 1-year experience working in a retail position
