The Hartford has an exciting opportunity to join our total rewards team as a Compensation Partner, who will provide consultation and execution of compensation programs in partnership with HRBPs, business leaders and the team supporting Personal Lines and Group Benefits. The Compensation Partner will have the opportunity to assess compensation programs that will attract and engage talent to ensure they are driving the goals and objectives of the client groups.
The Compensation Team continues to be an enterprise strategic partner while investing in best-in-class technology such as AI and Tableau to maximize the effectiveness of compensation programs. You will be empowered and enabled to positively influence business results through innovation and continuous improvement. This role will report to the Head of Broad-Based Compensation.
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities:
Identify and address emerging compensation trends for assigned client areas.
Anticipate pay risk or challenges associated with changes in organizational design or business strategy.
Partner and consult with business and HR partners to analyze salary and incentive programs aligned to competitive conditions and business objectives.
Counsel business and HR clients on pay strategy, policies, programs, communications, and competitive practice.
Consult and provide guidance on the client sales compensation plans.
Lead compensation survey submission and review, and year-end compensation planning (merit, bonus and LTI) efforts for assigned business groups.
Ensure the internal equity and external competitiveness of the companyu2019s total compensation practices through strategic monitoring of business conditions, legal requirements, economic environment, and competitive practices.
Participate in cross-disciplinary project teams supporting the development and implementation of performance-based pay programs or other enterprise compensation initiatives.
Develop compliant, auditable, cost-effective business processes as necessary to monitor on-going delivery and effectiveness of pay programs after implementation.
Identify, acquire, and maintain required infrastructure and resources necessary for effective administration, e.g., competitor intelligence channels, policies, practices, business processes, structures, communications channels. u200b
Conduct evaluations, surveys, and competitive analyses as necessary to ensure the on-going integrity of existing structures, policies, and practices.
Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of broad-based compensation, sales compensation or related experience strongly preferred; experience in insurance and/or financial services industry preferred.
Strong consultative skills, able to effectively coach, negotiate, positively influence/ leads stakeholders, and quickly gain trust and confidence.
Ability to manage multiple clients and projects, while delivering results.
Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.
Strong analytical skills required, preferred experience with forecasting and modeling.
Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and issues impacting compensation.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong business acumen to assess applicability, benefits, and challenges of various compensation structures.
Bacheloru2019s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
MS Office proficiency required; experience with Workday, Tableau and/or MarketPay or similar tools is helpful.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartfordu2019s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$104,240 - $156,360
