We are seeking a dedicated Flower Farm Hand to join our team and assist with our seasonal rose growing at Bloomed Life & Utah Flower Farm. The start date is May 1st (flexible) and the hourly pay is $14/hr. This position offers very flexible hours and is ideal for anyone interested in farming, horticulture, agriculture, gardening, or floristry.

Bloomed Life & Utah Flower Farm are female-owned and operated startups. Utah Flower Farm is Utah’s largest rose farm, growing over 12,000 plants and 150 varieties. Our mission is to provide high-quality, fragrant, locally grown roses from our farm to our store front, Bloomed Life, where we sell to customers and florists. Additionally, Bloomed Life doubles as an event space for local florists and artists, as well as for companies and individuals as a private event space.

The majority of the hours for this position will involve fieldwork outside, mainly focusing on deadheading roses and occasionally assisting with watering and weeding. The role requires hard, repetitive physical work, spent bent over for hours at a time, lifting 50 lbs, pushing wheelbarrows, and cleaning and maintaining equipment.

During the seasonal period from May to October, we offer flexible shifts, with ideally 6:30 AM to 3 PM, 1-2 days a week. Both week and weekend shifts are available. The hours are subject to change based on farm needs, and we are committed to working with the selected candidate to accommodate their availability. The outdoor farm location is in Holladay, while our retail store is located on 2150 S Main St. Ground level unit.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Deadheading roses (main responsibility)
Maintaining irrigation systems
Watering roses by hand
Hand harvesting flowers
Post-harvest handling of flowers
Weeding, pruning, and staking
Lifting buckets of mulch and bales of hay to spread them in the fields (or remove them from fields)
Operating small-scale farm equipment
Practicing excellent bucket maintenance of cut flowers, excellent upkeep of your cubby and workspace, and farm equipment
Keeping the barn clean and organized
Driving a van and/or golf cart
