Job Description

Georgetown University seeks an experienced and dynamic Director for its Art Galleries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in a museum or gallery setting, a deep understanding of modern and contemporary art, and a commitment to fostering a vibrant arts community within and beyond the university. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic vision, oversight, and management of the University's three art galleries: The Gallery Experience, The Art Museum, and The Campus Gallery. This individual will collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to integrate the galleries into the academic and cultural life of the university, furthering its educational mission and engaging diverse audiences.

The Director will have the opportunity to curate exhibitions, organize public programs, and expand the University's art collection. In addition, this role includes cultivating external relationships, securing funding, and promoting the galleries as a destination for scholars, artists, and community members. The successful candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to lead strategic planning and operational initiatives.
