Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing a 3 month weekly supply plan for a defined group of product lines that support $100M+ in annual sales. More specifically, this position will have responsibility for production master scheduling and planning within US manufacturing plants. This includes planning and executing capacity, inventory and service. Key measurements for success include exceeding customer services levels, projecting and managing inventory levels, efficient equipment and space utilization, and meeting defined plant level absorption goals.
This position requires managing dynamic circumstances and having the ability to make sound independent decisions based on multiple considerations. Must interface effectively with wide range of personnel under all situations and be both directive and responsive. Communication skills, interpersonal skills, planning skills, personal organization skills and ability to make rational decisions based on the data are important. Has the ability to work extended hours when necessary, limited international and domestic travel required.
Responsibilities:
Monthly responsibilities include defining inventory levels, production plans for operations, and managing controllable inputs to hit monthly service and inventory commitment.
Production budget responsibilities include department staffing, inventory walks, and alignment with a long term platform planning team on production plan for the facility.
Identify potential capacity constraint risks and form mitigation scenarios including, but not limited to, capacity expansions, inventory prebuilds, or offloads to other facilities.
Review above operating inventory and excess & obsolete inventory on a regular basis to determine root cause drivers, identify reduction opportunities, and process disposition requests.
Initiate and contribute to operations productivity including shop efficiency, materials deflation and substitution, and implementing lean manufacturing principles.
Partner with purchasing teams in house and interplant facilities to ensure raw material purchases and WIP movements are executed within the flow of supply to prevent customer impact.
Manage planning parameters within product line scope of responsibility to drive economical production plans that balance operational efficiency, inventory, and service.
Work within department and division to improve SAP utilization, reduce transactional load, and increase utilization of systems.
Work closely with data governance to ensure master data is correct and meeting specific division standards.
Manage daily production meetings and team meetings as necessary.
Exemplify and drive Newel’s culture within operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering or related Analytical discipline.
1-3 years of supply chain planning experience and process implementation.
Great communication skills. Has the ability to clearly communicate ideas at all levels of the organization.
Well organized with ability to manage through exception and data tracking.
Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during working hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
APICS CPIM certification preferred.
SAP R/S, SNP APO (PP/DS), WMS, BW preferred.
