City Planner II

South Salt Lake City Hall is seeking a qualified City Planner II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for urban planning and sustainable development, with a strong ability to manage and execute planning initiatives within the community.

The City Planner II will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing policies, programs, and processes related to city planning
  • Conducting research and analysis on land use, zoning, and development issues
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including government officials, developers, and community members, to gather input and feedback
  • Participating in public hearings and meetings to present planning proposals and address public inquiries
  • Contributing to the creation and enforcement of zoning regulations and long-term development plans

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Architecture, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal planning or related field
  • Strong knowledge of urban planning principles, zoning codes, and environmental regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and other relevant planning software
